Inspiration for the Visual Word Series
Inspiration for the Visual Word Series came one Tuesday evening in Bible Study.
My Pastor was talking about the importance of knowing who you are in Christ and
toward the end of Bible Study he began calling out scriptures on righteousness
and as I hurriedly wrote them down with the intent to study them expecting only
a few scriptures he kept going and I thought "this sure is a lot of scriptures."
I
remembered him talking on another occasion about how important it is to get it
into your system and how the word was the answer for everything and that if he
had a Drug/Alcohol Rehabilitation Program he would detoxify patients who came in by
locking them in a room for several days and "pumping" the word into their
system. In my mind, I visualized the word of God going into an individual,
either by audio or video. I remembered thinking, "We would be better
Christians if we would just lock ourselves up and pumped the word into our
systems." Then a statement my Pastor's wife, made about us being so bombarded when we watch television with commercials
images of what we ought to be made me think, "What if we flipped
the script?" What if there were movies, videos . . . based on the word of
God? If we played those all the time, that would be the influence of our
life instead of what we were accustomed to seeing on television.
A friend of mine, a gadget guy always purchased odd toys that no
one else would think of to purchase, had some nice video scenery. I asked
about the scenery and where he got it from and why & he said "just because."
Going back to those scriptures I copied down, I thought if I could create a
video that I could play over and over, it would be a lot easier for me to
memorize or get those scriptures into my system. Then I thought if I could
do this for these scriptures, I could do it for any scriptures and by topic and
it would be a great way to meditate on the word of God.
This was the birth of the Visual Word Series. It's more than just Bible
Scriptures on a screen. The Visual Word Series was created with the
purpose of developing faith in any area of life that a person needs developed.
It encompasses both the auditory and visual senses to make for more of an
impact. The Visual Word can be purchased on DVD and via audio or video
download.
